La historia de esta serie se basa en el estudiante de la Roland Imperial Special Academy llamado Raina Ryūto. Este chico es una persona totalmente apática que se pasa la mitad del día durmiendo en vez de atender a sus lecciones. Pero un día el pobre Raina se verá envuelto en un gran problema junto a todos sus compañeros, este poblema es la guerra que mantienen con el país vecino desde hace años.

Durante esta cruel batalla Raina pierde a muchos amigos y decide tras terminar esta lucha alistarse para luchar con su país mediante el ejército para protejer su imperio y al emperador Shion. Pero lo que Raina no sabe es que esta guerra esconde mucho más por parte de su país de lo que él pensaba.
